Job Description

Job includes exporting and importing meter readings, updating accounts form service orders and resolving issues to ensure data integrity and accurate calculations of customer bills.  Attention to detail, good communication and cooperating essential as will interact extensively with other coworkers and customers to resolve customer service and billing issues.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Preferred two years or more of billing or customer service experience.
  • Experience in management or supervision of other employees
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently w/the ability to make routine decisions within established guidelines.
  • Adaptable to multiple tasks and projects
  • Effective verbal and written communication; Spanish fluency a plus
  • Cash handling and cash drawer balancing procedures.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet established guidelines
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to be bonded

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure meter readings are accurate and process utility bills
  • Research and resolve problems including missing or incorrect meter information, duplicate locations, and customer data
  • Process auto-pay batches and bank drafts
  • Process late fees/penalties; process service interruption notices
  • Collection of delinquent utility accounts
  • Performs office and customer support activities including responding to and addressing complex or escalated inquiries and complaints in person, via phone or online systems
  • Review work and the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
